At
St. Paul's we utilize the musical talents that God has given
us to enhance the spirit of worship in our church services.
Our Music Program is directed by Mrs. Marilyn Pfisterer
and consists of the following: Chancel
Choir Our Chancel Choir is for anyone in 9th grade
and up. This group usually consists of between
25-30 participants who rehearse on Thursday evenings from
7:30 - 9 in the months of September through May. The Chancel
Choir sings every Sunday at the 9:00 service except on the
first Sunday of every month, when it sings at the 10:30 service.
Other services at which the Chancel Choir sings are the Thanksgiving
Service, the Advent Service of Lessons and Carols, Christmas
Eve at 11:00 p.m., Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday,
and the Easter Sunrise Service. Men's Chorus and Women's Chorus
works have been performed as well. Handbell
Choir 1 - The Bells of St. Paul's The Bells of
St. Paul's is made up of 11 ringers to play four octaves of
bells and two octaves
of chimes. This choir rings usually the second Sunday of the
month at both services, as well as at additional services
such as Thanksgiving, the Advent Service of Lessons and Carols,
and Christmas Eve. The director of our Handbell Choir is Mrs.
Marge Metz.
Handbell Choir 2 - The St. Paul's Ringers
The St. Paul's Ringers is a newer handbell choir, composed
of teenagers and adults new to the art form. They rehearse
after the second service on Sunday, usually two times a month.
They often play for Sunday morning services and also for special
services. Beginners are invited to join this group to learn
the techniques of handbell ringing. Instruments
We are always happy to incorporate instruments into the worship
services at St. Paul's. Recently we have been fortunate to
have had violin, cello, flute, oboe, trumpet, trombone, french
horn, string bass, and percussion accompany us during congregational
singing, as well as perform preludes, postludes, descants,
and our Christmas Eve pre-service music has included string
and bass quartet. Summer Music Program
Mid -June through Labor Day has traditionally been time off
for St. Paul's choirs. During this time, we often welcome
area soloists to perform a piece of special music.
